Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure- Platform: 3DS

This new action themed video game is ranked #1 on my list.

I first learned about this game in my favourite kids' magazine, K-zone. Then I received an e-mail inviting me join the event that featured the release of the Skylanders game. I got to bring a friend along and I immediately chose one of my best friends, Johnny. We played the game for half an hour and this was what Slylanders is all about...

 

Skylands were a peaceful group of islands that was inhabited by the Skylanders that used their magical powers and weapons to protect their land. But now an evil tyrant has banished them to Earth and made them small and frozen, like toys. Only you can place them on the Portal Of Power and bring them back to save their homeland...

Well, the main enemy of the game is Hektore , an evil invader from the Outlands that plans to deplete all the radiance energy in the Radiant Isles. He enslaved all 5 of the legendary Mystic Seekers and enslaved them in the most dangerous places in the whole of the Isles. Hektore then shrouded the Radiant Isles in darkness and separated it from all of Skylands. Your mission is to help Wendel, the eldest of the Seekers' son and destroy Hektore...for good!

You can pick your levels at the Sanctuary. Why? It's the only place Hektore cannot go to in the Radiant Isles. There you can talk to the Seekers you have rescued, choose the level you want to play or talk to Wendel and switch a Skylander.

I guess the only let down in this game is it only allows you to summon 2 Skylanders, which means you can only play as 2 Skylanders in a level. An interesting feature in the game however is the timer. When you collect a crystal, Hektore will notice and try to stop you. You have a certain amount of time to escape from him into the portal with the crystal and go back to the Sanctuary.

Characters are 'brought to life' in a boldly innovative adventure game where you can collect real-world toys and teleport them directly into the game using a mystical Portal of Power™.

This game is so awesome, I immediately became hooked and couldn't stop playing.
